AHA eNews March 2021
Dear Members and Friends,

I have been reflecting upon this past year. It was a year ago in March that marks the true turning point in how we live our daily lives. It was in March of last year in which we stopped moving. We stopped moving within our communities, within our countries and within the world. Our lives ground to a halt and we were confronted with how to move forward without moving.

It is interesting that this all began in March. March bears within it much symbolism for change. The spring equinox will be upon us soon and we will move from the deep sleepiness of winter into the sprouting new life and deep breaths of spring. The Ides of March will soon be upon us. That grim warning 'Beware the Ides of March' that Caesar ignored that led to the turning point in Roman history. The word 'Ides' comes from a Latin word meaning "to divide". In Roman times it referred to the dividing of the lunar month; in Shakespeare's play it referred to the fall of the Roman Empire; but to what do we imagine this image of 'dividing' to refer to in March of 2020? Indeed, we saw much division within our social systems, political systems, healthcare systems and almost every aspect of life. March 2020 marks the turning point from "before Covid 19" to "after Covid 19".

But here we are a year later, March 2021 and the Ides of March are upon us once again. What do we envision this year's division to be? Can we imagine it as a turning point that leads us from division to integration? Can we imagine all of our divided systems learning to work together, to see our differences as strengths and complementary to one another rather than as antipathetic to one another? Indeed I see this March as a springing towards each other with new life and new growth that is reflected in collaboration and inclusion. Where do I see this? I see this deeply reflected in the fresh, exciting, interdisciplinary events that are offered here in our Calendar of Events. Never before have so many events included so many varied practitioners and modalities as is being offered this year. As healthcare practitioners it is important that we sense, model and champion the healing forces that are needed in our world today. These offerings show our deep commitment to unification and nourishment for the whole. Thank you to all of you striving to bring this health filled truth, beauty and goodness to humanity!

With gratitude and reverence for your work,
Tonya Stoddard

Long Awaited New Publication!

"Can therapeutic eurythmy correct faulty vision? Heal eye diseases? Alleviate computer strain? Eye specialists who have seen its results have been truly astonished! In 1924, a young doctor and gifted eurythmist, Ilse Knauer was asked by Rudolf Steiner to build up a therapy for the eyes based on anthroposophic insights. Over the years it has expanded to address a wide range of eye ailments—including: myopia, hyperopia, squinting, astigmatism, glaucoma, cataracts, computer screen damage to the eyes, and more." Exciting New Publication!
"Anthroposophic Nursing Practice shows not only the possibility, but also the practical experience of nursing care, which aims to be both holistic and optimistic. The knowledge and perspectives gathered in this book have matured through the work of several generations of anthroposophically oriented nurses, all striving to refine a truly integrative nursing practice."

Important Position Paper on Anthroposophic Medicine as part of the future of Healthcare!

Look at this petition for screenless kindergartens!

Dear All,
Along with the good news that today we have joined the 64th thousand supporters of the Petition for Screenless Kindergartens and Primary Schools, a heartfelt request goes out to you, to share the following facebook- post together with one of the attached fotos:
Children are not computers - they need analogue kindergartens and primary schools for their development! Help to keep this choice and sign our petition at https://eliant.eu/en/home/
Kinder sind keine Computer – sie brauchen für ihre Entwicklung analoge Kindergärten und Grundschulen! Helft mit, diese Wahlmöglichkeit zu erhalten und unterschreibt unsere Petition auf www.eliant.eu
Since this year almost all lecture events had to be cancelled, which have been the main source of signatures so far, we - the helping students and I - now want to focus entirely on social media networks. If we manage to achieve exponential growth in this way by the end of the year, the target of 100,000 could still be reached.
With many thanks for your help
and best regards
