Fostering a Culture of Health: The AAMTA 2018 Post-Conference will be a special Forum to present and discuss ideas about developing an organized Public Health outreach in North America based on anthroposophic and holistic health. This forum will be led by current PAAM President, Dr. Steven M. Johnson, and by Dr. Stefan Schmidt-Trotske, who is the former Director of the Medical School program at Herdeke in Witten, Germany, and is now active in anthroposophic health outreach across Europe, including serving on the Board of ELIANT (European Alliance of Intitiatives for Applied Anthroposophy). We will also be joined my Dr. Matthias Girke, Head of the Medical Section for Anthropsophic Medicine in Dornach, Switzerland. It is our hope that an alliance of educators, food producers, health clinicians, parents and concerned citizens can gradually come together to form a platform to promote a paradigm shift in public health, especially focusing on the role of early childhood and salutogenesis in life-long health (https://developingchild.harvard.edu/).
This meeting is open to all professional backgrounds as well as parents. Interested participants should have a strong interest in this topic and also see the possibility of ongoing contribution to this initiative as it continues to develop. The size of the Forum will be limited so allow for productive exchanges. We hope this meeting to be the founding of an important outreach endeavor.
